There are 23 crocodile species in the world and the Crocodylus Porosus species is the biggest crocodile and produces the best skin quality Therefore, the Crocodylus Porosus Species is the national treasure and heritage of the country and it has to be preserved. The breeding of Crocodylus Porosus is integrated into a tourist attraction and a production facility for crocodile skin products, which will enhance the national economy. Since 1993, Taman Buaya Langkawi Sdn. Bhd. is the owner of “The Largest Crocodile Farm" in Malaysia registered in Malaysia’s Book of Records. CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species) granted the company a membership no: A-MY-505 for the success in research on the breeding of crocodylus porosus species and the legal sustainable production of crocodile leather products to be retailed in the world market.
